Garlic Varieties

Inchelium Red Garlic

This year I am adding two new varieties of garlic.  The first one is Inchelium Red Garlic.

Features:

1) Inchelium Red is a softneck type of garlic which means it will store well for about 6 to 9 months. If you want to find out more about softnecks, click on the link

2) It is an artichoke garlic since it has overlapping cloves and resembles an artichoke or so they say!

3) Inchelium Red does not produce a scape and the stem is soft making it a good candidate for braiding.

4) It grows well in the north and tolerates summer heat in the south.

5) Inchelium Red cloves are mild flavored and great for baking and roasting.

6) The bulbs have purple and white coloring.

7) This variety will usually have between 15 and 20 smaller cloves.

The last variety we chatted about was Spanish Roja Garlic which I am growing again this year.  Spanish Roja is a hardneck type of garlic.
