I previously shared that I planted Inchelium Red Garlic. Today’s article is about another variety of garlic called Nootka Rose.
Features:
1) Nootka Rose (a softneck type of garlic) is known for storing the longest at 9 to 12 month.
2) While the cloves are layered like an artichoke garlic, it is a silverskin garlic.
3) When grown in the north, silverskins like Nootka Rose may produce a scape. Typically they have softnecks and can be braided.
4) It grows well in the north and the south.
5) Nootka Rose cloves have a stronger flavor.
6) The bulbs are white.
7) Nootka Rose will usually have between 12 and 20 cloves that have rose streaked wrappers.
I saved some of my Montana Zemo and Chesnok Red Garlic bulbs from last year to replant this year too!
