Berry Varieties

Raspberry Shortcake

I purchased my first Raspberry Shortcake plant in spring 2014 and the second one in summer 2015.   This raspberry plant is part of the Bushel and Berry collection. Previously, I had them in my herb garden.  In 2017, I moved these plants along with my blueberry plants to their forever home which I call the berry garden.

Features:

1) These raspberries taste great!

2) Raspberry Shortcake plants do not have thorns – huge bonus!

3) Unlike other raspberry plants, it grows in a compact mound up to 3 feet tall and wide.

4) It can be grown in a container or in the ground.

5) You don’t need to stake it.

6) While Raspberry Shortcake plants might send off a few shoots, they are controllable. I dig them up right away, transplant them or give them away to others!

7) This plant is self-pollinating so you don’t have to have two plants for pollination.

8) Raspberry Shortcakes like consistent moisture and balanced plant food.

9) Also, this plant loves good draining soil and full sun.
