A great gift for a gardener or a vegetable lover is a Veggetti. I got one for Christmas from my son and I love it. Now the Veggetti says that it is great for zucchini, squash, carrots, cucumbers and potatoes. There are two blade settings for thick and thin strands.
It is easy to use and is dishwasher safe. I’ve used it with zucchini and yellow (summer) squash with success. I don’t think it is easy to use with carrots when they are thin – I will have to give it a try with thick carrots. As you can see from the pictures, we use the spiral veggies for salads and slaw. Also, you can use it for pastas and stir fries. As for potatoes, you can use it for potato pancakes. While I haven’t tried to make the potato pancakes yet, I am going to try making curly fries.
While the Veggetti is small and you hold it in your had, there are other products out there such as the Spiralizer that are bigger and have different blades. One blade option available is to make a wider ribbon instead of a noodle. How fancy is that!
