If you didn’t already know, there are lots of varieties of basil. Since I couldn’t find African Blue Basil this year to attract bees, a local plant store recommended that I give Siam Queen Basil a try. It is a pretty and tasty plant but it doesn’t attract as many bees.
Features:
1) The taste is a combination of basil and licorice.
2) It has purple flowers like Sweet Thai Basil, but these flowers grow in clusters like Cardinal Basil.
3) Siam Queen leaves are 4 inches long by 2 inches wide.
4) This variety is edible and ornamental.
3) Siam Queen Basil is used in Thai, Vietnamese and Italian cooking.
4) This variety will get up to 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide.
5) Siam Queen enjoys the sun.
6) It won a 1997 All-American Selections.
