Blooms Sow And Grow Blooms

Hanging Flower Baskets

IMG_8475

If you love flowers, check out this blog as there are more pictures below.  I hang flower baskets in the corners of my vegetable garden.   These baskets are in full sun all day,  the baskets are not very deep and the baskets are right under the overhead water sprinklers so I have to be choosy about the flowers.

I planted these three baskets around Memorial Day.  Sorry but I don’t have a fourth planter because the last corner is where the gate is!

Planter Coco Fiber\

I bought new coco fiber liners this year from Big Lots but they looked kind of funky but they were cheap!  I then lined the coco fiber with premium landscaping fabric – this helps to retain water which is a plus!   Next I filled it with potting soil and then lots of flowers!

In all three baskets, the flower that is cascading over the side is called Calibrachoa.   Here’s how the baskets turned out. . .

The close up at the top of the blog is the Double Lemon Calibrachoa. The other flowers in that basket include two white Begonias and one orange Lantana (see directly above).

The next flower basket contains dark red Calibrachoa, a red Lantana and white allyssum. . .

The third basket has hot pink Calibrachoa and Profusion Coral Pink Zinnia.
