Even if cauliflower is not your favorite vegetable, you have to give Fioretto Cauliflower a try.
Features:
1) It produces sprouts instead of a head which is why it is called a sprouting cauliflower. The angle of my photo does not show the sprouts!
2) The stems are a light green, very flavorful and tender.
3) The buds are creamy white. If it gets really hot outside, the tips will start to purple (see photo).
4) Fioretto likes temperatures between 60℉Fand 80℉.
5) This cauliflower has a sweet, delicate nutty flavor.
6) While you can cook it, I really like to eat Fioretto raw in salads or with a dip. Some folks even pickle it.
7) Fioretto matures between 60 and 85 days.
8) The plant will grow up to 18 inches tall and wide.
9) Fioretto is a hybrid of broccoli and cauliflower.
The last veggie variety we chatted about was Nero Toscana Lacinato Kale which is also in the Brassica Family.
