We are going to focus on more intense gardening by using square foot gardening. The Seeding Square is a handy dandy tool to use for square foot gardening.
Here’s how it works:
1) Press the green square in to the soil. Of course, the green square is 1 ft x 1 ft.
2) Poke the soil with the orange tool.
3) Plant the seeds using the orange tools as in the photo.
Orange Circle – one plant per square foot – a pepper plant is an example
Blue Circles – 4 plants per square foot – rutabaga is an example
Yellow Circles – 9 plants per square foot – bush bean is an example
Red Circles – 16 plants per square foot – carrot is an example
As you may remember, we designed our raised and elevate beds in square feet.
