If I am going to get serious about saving seeds, I had to get some supplies. For instance, I needed to get some seed packets or envelopes.  Since I like to purchase seed packets that have a flower blend of different colors of the same variety or a veggie blend of different varieties, I would like to save the seeds separately for the different colors and varieties.
I wanted the seed packets to be blank so I could record some information on them.  It’s important to record the plant type, variety, color and the year that you saved the seeds. While most seeds will last 2 to 3 years, there are some exceptions.
Some other helpful information to record on the packet includes how tall and wide the plant will grow, whether it is a bush or vining plant, when the best time to sow the seeds are and at what depth to plant the seeds and how far apart.
I ended up purchasing my blank seed packets on Amazon. They were made for party favors, seeds and other small stuff. I got 100 packets to start out with. While the flap does not have any glue on it, you can purchase packets that seal. Since I am not in the seed selling business, I decided not to worry about the seal.
So far, we have chatted about saving globe amaranth seeds.
