If you didn’t realize it, there are two types of radishes. Today’s topic is seed ideas for spring radishes. The name is a bit confusing since spring radishes can be grown in the spring and the fall. They love the cooler weather!
If you like traditional red round radishes, here are some ideas:
Rudolf – this variety has one inch round roots.
Scarlet Globe
Sparkler White Tip – this variety is so cute. It is red, round and white on the bottom.
Cherry Belle – this one is said to be an heirloom from Holland.
Crimson Giant – this one will get up to 2 inches wide
German Giant – this variety is large and spicy!
If you want a variety that is red but oblong, the check out these:
French Breakfast – if you want a mild radish, then check out this one. It is my favorite!
China Rose
Radishes don’t have to be red:
Purple Plum – this one has purple skin and white flesh. This is my second favorite variety.
Easter Egg – this blend includes white, pink, red and purple radishes
Golden Helios -this radish is round and yellow
Japanese Wasabi – this one is green and tastes like wasabi – wow!
White Hailstone
