Not all flowers shine in the sun! Some flowers prefer the shade or partial shade.  Some really like to be out of the afternoon sun and some grow best in the spring and fall. Here is my list. . .

1) Pansies – I have them in my baskets every spring as you can see in the featured photo.
2) Violas – also known as Johnny Jump Ups
3) Snapdragons – I love yellow and pink snapdragons!
4) Forget-Me-Nots
5) Coleus – most varieties of coleus do well in part shade
6) Lobelia
7) Sweet Peas – love these flowers!
8)Â Sweet William / Dianthus
9) Baby’s Breath
10) Peas – don’t rule out this vegetable as the flowers are pretty and prefer to grow in the spring and fall. Plus this flower gives us peas – bonus time!
