While I don’t grow the iceberg type of lettuce, I still want to share some seed ideas for you just in case you want to. The only reason I don’t grow it is because it is so readily available at the grocery store. Here are some seed ideas:
Great Lakes 118 – this one has been improved to be heat tolerant and bolt resistant – a double bonus!
Crispino – it has a white heart and green leaves
Saladin – this one has a tightly wrapped head
Pablo – is an unusual type of iceberg as it has green and red leaves. This one is a beauty and you can find it at MIGardener.
