There are quite a few varieties that come in different heights and colors. I am growing a shorter variety called Sonata Cosmos that comes in white, pink rose and cherry.
Seed Saving Tips:
1) Leave the Cosmos flower head to dry on the plant.
2) Once the flower head is completely dry like the one on the right, cut it off.
3) Remove the long dark brown seeds that are pointed on both ends from the flower head. They will look like the seeds up front in the photo.
4)Â Leave the Cosmos seeds out to dry for another week.
5) Store the seeds in a brown bag or envelope until next season. Don’t forget to label the packet.
