You can buy peanuts in or out of the shell.
Features:
1) Peanuts attract the following birds: woodpeckers, titmice, nuthatches, chickadees and blue jays. Keep in mind that grackles and squirrels love peanuts too!
2) If you put out peanuts in the shell it will help to deter starlings.
3) Peanuts are high in fat and a good source of energy and calories.
4) Most birds don’t care whether peanuts are in or out off the shell. Don’t feed them salted peanuts! The salt is not good for them.
