First of all, you need to harvest the garlic scapes when they are young, tender and mild. When we chatted about how to sow and grow garlic, I reviewed why it was important to remove the scapes. In case you didn’t know they are milder than garlic cloves and have a texture like asparagus.
Ingredients:
Garlic Scapes
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
Grilling Steps:
1) After you harvest the you harvest the young and tender garlic scapes, give them a rinse. You can eat the bud and the stem.
2) Massage the scapes with olive oil.
3) Char the garlic scapes for about 4 to 5 minutes per side on a veggie tray on the grill with medium heat. So simple but so good!
4) Top with salt and pepper or be creative with your favorite spice or herb.
