Garlic Chives

While common chives taste like onions, garlic chives taste like garlic.

Features:

  • Garlic chives are perennial plants.
  • They have a garlic flavor and smell which helps to make them deer resistant!
  • This variety have white flowers in late summer/fall.  The pollinators love the flowers too!
  • The leaves and the young flowers are edible.
  • The plants will get up 18 inches high and wide.
  • You can get more garlic chives by dividing the plants or saving the seeds.
  • Garlic chives can grow in full sun or part shade.
  • They are drought tolerant too.
  • Compared to common or onion Chives, the leaves of garlic chives are flat.
  • The white flowers bloom in late summer or early fall.
