In addition to Gigante Verde Tomatillos, I like to grow Purple Tomatillos. I’ve been growing Purple Tomatillos for several years now because I can’t find them at the grocery store. Here are some of the features that I like:
Features:
1) The Purple Tomatillo packs a punch of color in the garden.
2) It matures in about 70 to 80 days which is about 20 days earlier that the green varieties.
3) Purple Tomatillos are about 1 1/4 inches wide.
4) Once this tomatillo changes from green to purple, it gets sweeter.
5) This variety will reach about 2 feet tall.
