Sugar Snap Vining Up the Trellis

This variety of snap pea is called Sugar Snap.   I learned something new today – this variety was the first edible podded pea and was bred by Dr. Calvin Lamborn.

Best Features:

1) Sugar Snap is very tasty whether it is eaten fresh or cooked.

2)  The blooms are white.

3)  You can space the seeds 2 inches apart – they are a space saver!

 

4)  Sugar Snap vines up to 8 feet tall if you give it a good trellis.

5) The pods are about 3 inches long.
