I hit MI Gardeners online store at the right time. While their flower choices were not in yet, I was able to snag some interesting herbs and veggie seed varieties.
Seed Picks for 2022:
White Stem Pak Choi – I picked this variety because it is a little taller than the other varieties of pak choi or bok choy that I grow so it is more suited for grilling.
Garbanzo Bean – I really want to grow some chickpeas this year.
Cucuzzi Squash – This variety grows up a trellis and the fruit looks like hanging snakes! – how exotic!
Viroflay Spinach – The leaves on this spinach plant can get up to 10 inches long.
Italian Striped Zucchini – This variety is known for smaller but more zukes.
Red Long of Tropea Onion – This reddish purple onion is a bunching onion that is good for eating fresh!
Salad Burnet – This one is for the herb garden. It has a cucumber flavor.
Marshmallow – The roots and leaves are edible and the blooms attract pollinators.
Grosfruchtiger Fennel – This variety is known as sweet leaf fennel.
Curled Chervil – It is known as French parsley that has a hint of anise flavoring.
White Sweet Spanish Onion – This bulb reaches 3 inches wide and loves the Northern regions which is where we live!
Crystal White Wax Onion – This cute little variety can be pickled, eaten fresh or lightly cooked.
Jicama – this root veggie has a flavor like sweet potatoes and water chestnuts.
Cinnamon Basil – I picked this variety because I think the color will a attract lots of bees.
Bianca Di Maggion Onion – This cipollini variety stores well.
Zebrune Shallot – While I have been successful growing shallots from bulbs, now it is time to master growing them from seeds!
Black Nebula Carrot – This carrot has black flesh and skin.
I recently shared my Seed Picks from Baker Creek 2022.
