I really like the cool season and hybrid options from High Mowing Seeds.
Seed Picks for 2021:
As for the Brassica Family, I purchased the following seeds:
1) Dagan F1 Brussels Sprouts – I previously purchased these seeds but I included them in this year’s seed picks because I wasn’t successful growing them last year. I think the reason was the soil. I am determined to be successful this year with my newly renovated garden. This variety has tall straight stalks which means more sprouts!
2) Sante F1 Sprouting Broccoli – This sprouting broccoli does not form a main head just lots of small ones and the buds are purple. Love having lots of color in the garden!
3) DeCicco Broccoli – if you harvest the central head before it bolts, the plant will produce side shoots like sprouting broccoli.
Also, I added these seeds to my collection:
4) Wonder F1 Artichoke – Usually I use my purchased hybrid seeds for several years. Of course, I found my seed packet from last year after I purchased them again! Ugh!
5) Midori Giant Soybean – While these plant grow to only 3 feet tall, they are supposed to be heavy producers. Can’t wait!
6) Amish Paste Tomato – This variety is said to be an heirloom tomato from Wisconsin which has large fruits and little seeds. Hope I like it as much as the Super Marzano seeds that I am unable to find this year.
My last round of seed picks for 2021 were from Botanical Interests.
