Over the last two years, I started slowing saving seeds. While I typically order a lot of seeds, this year I am focused on new seed varieties.
Seed Picks for 2022:
1) Red Kuri – I am trying to do a better job with winter squash. I picked this one because the vines grow up to 6 feet long and the squash is under 5 lbs.
2) Honeynut – This is another winter squash choice. This one will only vine up to 3 feet long. Also it is very sweet.
3) Hearts of Gold – This cantaloupe will vine up to 6 feet and each cantaloupe is under 5 lbs.
4) Italian Red of Florence – I previously grew this scallion but did not save the seeds.  It is a keeper.
5) Lavewa Spinach – This spinach plant will get up to 8 inches tall and is open pollinated.
6) Feverfew – This herb produces small daisy like flowers and is loved by pollinators.
7) Cool Summer Breeze Violas – This seed blend includes lavender-blue, purple, pale yellow and cream blooms – how pretty!
Check out my picks from last year.
