When most people think of beets, they think of red but there are other colors. If you need some seed ideas for beets, then take a look at my list.
Seed Ideas:
I prefer the ones that are not red so I will start out with the other colors.
Chioggia – this variety has red and white circles.
These are yellow gold:
Golden Boy – this variety has orange skin and gold flesh.
Touchstone Gold – this one looks like Golden Boy and is best harvested at 3 inches wide or smaller.
While most seed companies sell red, gold and chioggia beet seeds, I found some seed for white beets at Rare Seeds, MIgardener and High Mowing:
Albino
Sugar – this is a big one and can grow up to 1 foot long and weigh up to 5 pounds!
Vereduna Alba
Here are some red varieties:
Bull’s Blood – This beet has red leaves and roots.

Early Wonder
Robin – these are baby beets that are best at 1 1/2 inches wide.
