The Pod veggie category consists of one plant family:
Legume Family:Â Beans (snap, shell and dried) and peas (English, sugar snap and snow)
Similarities:  Pods enrich the soil with nitrogen. The main attraction with Pods is the pods and the seeds inside. The birds love the seeds. Pollinators love the flowers. Pods grow above ground.
Differences: While peas and fava beans are cool season lovers, the rest are warm season lovers.. Beans and peas varieties can grow as a bush or in pole format. You can eat the pods of snow peas, sugar snaps and snap beans but not the pods of peas, shell and dried beans.
The last veggie category we covered was the Roots category.
