The Mushroom Herb is a neat plant that is somewhat difficult to find.
Features:
1) As the name suggests, the glossy green leaves have a mushroom flavor.
2) The Mushroom Herb likes sun to part shade.
3) It will grow up to 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide.
4) The mushroom herb will bloom in mid to late summer.
5) It enjoys consistent moisture.
6) Since the ushroom Herb is hardy down to Zone 7 and it is hard to find at the plant nurseries, I need to dig it up in the fall and bring it indoors.
7) This herb can be propagated from cuttings.
8) Mushroom Herbs can be eaten raw in salads or on sandwiches. Also, it can be added as a garnish in soups and sauces. Get creative!
The other “exotic” herb that I like to grow when I can find it is call an Olive Herb.
