Features:
- This plant has glossy green leaves with yellow streaks that have a mushroom flavor and small purple flowers.
- The Mushroom Herb prefers part shade.
- It will grow up to 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide.
- The Mushroom Herb will bloom in mid to late summer.
- It enjoys consistent moisture.
- Since the Mushroom Herb is hardy down to Zone 7 and it is hard to find at the plant stores, I like to dig it up in the fall and bring it indoors or propagate it from cuttings.
- Mushroom Herbs can be eaten raw in salads or on sandwiches. Also, it can be added as a garnish in soups and sauces. Get creative!
- If cooked, the mushroom flavor intensifies.
