This is the first year that I grew winter radishes. The first one I wanted to share with you is the Miyashige White Daikon Radish.
Features:
1) This radish has white skin and flesh.
2) Miyashige White Daikons can grow between 12 and 18 inches long so you want a deep raised bed.
3) Also this variety will grow between 2 and 3 inches wide. Based on this I would sow them 4 to 5 inches apart.
4) This daikon variety will mature in about 60 days.
5) Don’t forget that you can harvest them when they are smaller for fresh daikon radishes or larger for cooking.
6) If you want mature Miyashiges, it is recommended that you grow them in late summer and or early fall.
7) If you want some seeds to harvest, then grow them in the spring. They will bolt and produce flowers and then seeds.
