Garlic Varieties

Chesnok Red Garlic

I’ve been growing Chesnok Red Garlic for quite a few years. I saved two of my bulbs from last year to plant this fall.

Features:

1) This variety is great for cooking and baking as it holds its medium hot flavor.

2) Chesnok Red Garlic is a hardneck type of garlic that is in the purple stripe family.

3) The large white bulb has up to 10 cloves with purple striped wrappers which is why it’s in the purple stripe family!

4) Since Chesnok Red hails from the Republic of Georgia, it loves cold winters.

5) The cloves are easier to peel – what a bonus!

6) This variety stores well.
