Roma Tomatoes

While I grow pole tomatoes too, my favorite bush tomato is the Italian Roma Tomato.  I purchased the seeds from Botanical Interests.  This tomato is oblong in shape and gets to be about 3 inches long.  While the tomato does not have many seeds, it has more meat and a yummy flavor which is great for making salsa and spaghetti sauce.

Also, the plants are very productive and give off a lot of fruit.   This year they started producing in mid July and they are still coming!  I usually keep getting tomatoes into the fall.

This year I planted three Roma plants and one Glacier tomato plant.  I think next year I will go with four Roma plant because they are an all around winner from our garden to the kitchen!
